SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER

Bhau Kalchuri

We are always pleased whenever Beloved Baba's close Mandali, Bhau Kalchuri, graces the L.A. Sahavas with his wonderful presence.  Bhau met Meher Baba in 1952 and joined Him as one of Baba's men Mandali in 1953.  At His instruction, Bhau wrote Meher Baba's biography, published in the multi-volume Lord Meher series.  A distinguished poet, Bhau has written thousands of ghazals, published in such works as Meher Sarod.  He currently serves as Chairman of the Avatar Meher Baba Perpetual Public Charitable Trust in India.

MUSICAL GUESTS

Jane Brown

Jane Brown has been singing to Baba's family for over 30 years.  She has been giving concerts at the Meher Spiritual Center in Myrtle Beach over these many years and also performing for different Sahavas celebrations in His name.  She and her late husband, Bob Brown, have released many recordings for the Baba family and the latest is the Best of Bob and Jane Brown.  In the last two years, she has performed with David Morris who is a wonderful singer and guitarist and they now are performing concerts at the Center and surrounding Sahavases.

David Morris

David Morris has lived in the Baba community near Meher Spiritual Center in Myrtle Beach for 30 years. He and Jane Brown first performed together at the 2007 Southeast Gathering Talent Show. Following this performance, he started to perform with Jane at the Meher Center on a regular basis. The music they perform is an eclectic mixture of songs, new and old, dedicated to their love for Meher Baba.

LA CASA DE MARIA

Considered by many to be one of the loveliest retreats in the U.S., La Casa De Maria offers lovely Spanish style buildings nestled in the foot hills of Montecito, with refreshing breezes from the Pacific Ocean (just 10 minutes away).  Sycamore & oak trees abound on 15 acres of land adjoining a national forest.

MORE ABOUT THE SAHAVAS

The Sahavas is an entirely volunteer effort.  The committee gives its efforts to Baba so that His lovers may draw deeply from His Ocean.  Anyone may join the Sahavas effort, regardless of where they live.  We actively invite your participation.

We strive to make the Sahavas affordable for everyone.  This event is not designed as a profit center for our group.  Everyone
is charged the lowest rates possible based on our costs for the Retreat Center as well as the travel costs for guests, mailing and printing costs, child-care, etc.  Our overhead does not include the countless hours and professional contributions of committee members and many others.

Information about activities, transportation and registration are available in the Sahavas Flyer and Registration Form.
