Meherabode Talks
Lyn Ott
Lyn Ott graduated from the Rhode Island School of
Design in 1947. After art school, he established a studio in
New York City and his works were exhibited in several one-man shows at
the Lavisco Gallery to positive reviews. Lyn settled in
Woodstock, N.Y. and joined the Art Students League of New York.
There he began a long-term partnership with fellow painter and
spiritual seeker Phyllis Silverman. In 1965, they met Meher Baba
in India and a year later the Ott family moved to the
Meher Spiritual Center in
Myrtle Beach, S.C. While living at the Center, Lyn produced
approximately 500 paintings of Meher Baba and today his paintings
adorn Baba centers and homes around the world. The murals that
Lyn and Phyllis created in 1975, can be seen on permanent exhibition
in the Meher Baba Pilgrim Center near Ahmednagar, India. Lyn
also wrote two books:
"In Quest
of the Face of God" and "Journey Out of Darkness" which remains
unpublished.
