This year’s special Guest Speaker: Steve Klein

Steve Klein first heard of Baba in the late 60's while in college. He went to India for the first time in 1972, and then again in 1975 after which he went to India pretty much every year for 30 years, living there from 1982-1986.

He helped edit many books about Meher Baba, most notably Bal Natu's Glimpses of the God-Man and 3 collections of Eruch Jessawala's stories, which were combined as That's How It Was. Steve lives in New Hampshire with his wife, Daphne, and their dog, Orrie.

Our Musical Guest is Topher Stephens

Topher Stephens was raised among the rivercane and old-time reels of Appalachia and inherited a profound love of music and deep reverence for wildness from his tree-hugging, Baba-Lover parents. Following several rigorous years of study at UNC Asheville (consisting mostly of classes in African Dance, Pottery, Buddhist Philosophy, Ethnomusicology, and Mushroom Foraging), he did what any self-respecting liberal arts graduate would do and wandered broke and aimless for several years.

Along the way, Topher started writing heartfelt and hopeful love songs to all that is wild, beautiful, and sacred in the world. Several of these songs have become well-loved standards at the Myrtle Beach Youth Sahavas. Topher believes wholeheartedly in the power of music to nourish our souls and to offer hope in these troubled times and is thrilled to be bringing his songs to the L.A. Sahavas community this year.
